Most turbos do not operate consistently anywhere near that temperature, the majority of the aftermarket turbos operate safely well under 1000°C and our blankets are rated to withstand much more than that. Regardless, that is a lot of heat that just soaks in the engine bay and can lead to messy heat management. Everything under the bay works better when things are cooler - especially your intake and charge pipes!
